“I am honored by this award and look forward to continuing to work with our ethanol producers to create a pro-growth, pro-business environment for the industry,” said Hoeven. “Our country’s energy industry represents an enormous opportunity for job creation in this country. We need to foster growth and innovation in all of our energy sectors, so we produce more domestic energy, create good jobs and bring in greater tax revenues to help overcome our nation’s financial challenges.”
A member of the Senate Energy Committee, Hoeven is working to build a comprehensive energy policy that promotes all of the nation’s energy sources in tandem. To create a better environment for the renewable energy sector, Hoeven has cosponsored legislation that encourages the installation of blender pumps and the development of cellulosic and second generation ethanol to create a market-based approach to the ethanol industry.
Hoeven will receive the award from Russ Newman of Tharaldson Ethanol and Adam Dunlop of Blue Flint Energy this evening at a reception for Growth Energy.
