Hoeven Announces BNSF, RRVW Agreement to Provide Rail Service to James Valley Grain

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced that BNSF Railway and RRVW Railroad Company have reached an agreement to provide shuttle train service to James Valley Grain’s proposed shuttle facility in Verona, North Dakota.

“The agreement BNSF and RRVW have reached to provide train service to James Valley Grain is an important step in our ongoing efforts to improve rail service in North Dakota, especially for our state’s farmers who rely heavily on trains” said Hoeven. “New service to the proposed facility in Verona will improve the reliability of rail transportation in our state, ensuring that our producers are able to receive the supplies they need and ship the items they grow.”

Hoeven has been working to ensure reliable and safe rail transportation in North Dakota. Earlier this year he spoke to BNSF Railway Executive Chairman Matt Rose to urge the railroad to do everything it can to ensure timely delivery of fertilizer and seed for spring planting, and he will continue to push to ensure rail service is timely for all parts of North Dakota.
