Hoeven Announces More than $1.4 Million in Grants for Mandan, Mott Airports

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded two grants totaling $1,417,110 to the airport authorities of Mandan and Mott. The awards are as follows:

  • Mandan Airport Authority – $1,118,003 – The funds will be used to construct a taxiway to provide access to aircraft hangers.
  • Mott Municipal Airport Authority – $299,107 – The grant will fund improvements to the airport’s access road, the construction of a parking lot and repair of the cracks in Runway 10/28, the apron and Taxiway A to help maintain the integrity of the pavement and minimize foreign object debris

“In North Dakota, we need reliable transportation to continue to grow and support our vibrant economy,” Hoeven said. “Our airports play a crucial role in our state’s economic development. These grants will help the Mandan and Mott airports continue to serve an integral part in the economic development of their communities and regions.”

The senator has been instrumental in helping secure federal funding for improvement and maintenance projects at airports throughout North Dakota. Earlier today, Senator Hoeven announced more than $1.4 million in DOT grants for airports in Minot and Washburn. Last September, airports throughout North Dakota received more than $6.8 million in grants for construction and maintenance efforts.

As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Hoeven works to support programs that invest in infrastructure and other services to meet the needs of North Dakota’s growing population and commerce.
